Three of Draka’s Universal Cabling (UC) Connect copper data cables have been HDBase-T certified. This certification further strengthens Draka’s UC Connect offering of standard and Slimflex cables which already have comprehensive third party approval.
HDBaseT enables a single cable to replace multiple cables and connectors in both the business environment and in home entertainment. The cornerstone of HDBaseT is 5Play, a feature set that converges uncompressed ultra-HD digital audio & video, 100BaseT Ethernet, USB 2.0, up to 100 Watts of power over cable and various control signals through a single cable.
The Draka UC Connect cables to have been recently certified are:
UC900 ss23 Cat.7 S/FTP
UC500 S23 Cat.6A U/FTP
UC400 Cat.6 U/UTP HD
HDBase-T certification offers installers and specifiers the peace of mind that the cables will be interoperable with current and future HDBaseT products.
Cables and systems specialist Draka is a member of the HDBaseT Alliance, the pan-industry group established to promote, advance and standardise HDBaseT for home and commercial transmission of uncompressed ultra-high-definition multimedia content.
Product Manager for UC Connect, Lee Stokes, said: “As part of the Prysmian Group, the world’s leading cable manufacturer, the certification of Draka’s UC Connect cables will ensure their interoperability among current and future HDBaseT products”.
