Securing the best sound quality possible is one of the most important features of any audio set-up. Luckily Comtec Direct's wide range of products and expertise can help users get the very most out of their system and enjoy some of the best sounds around.
This includes a number of top brands, such as Draka, the most recent addition to the HDBaseT Alliance, which aims to promote, advance and standardise HDBaseT for home and commercial transmission of uncompressed ultra-high-definition multimedia content.
HDBaseT will also enable a single cable to replace the need for multiple cables and connectors, ensuring a more efficient solution for both businesses and homes.
For instance, 5Play converges uncompressed ultra-HD digital audio & video, 100BaseT Ethernet, USB 2.0 and up to 100 Watts of power over cable and numerous control signals through a single cable.
These are some of the best everyday products available, but like with any other technology, there is no shortage of people trying to push audio technology to the limit.
Big Audio ISE 2016
The latest ISE 2016 event was awash with a number of big audio solutions taking centre stage, with several eye-catching products on show.
A large number of the products on show are aimed at the consumer market, but nonetheless impressive.
And yet being understated is the name of the game for some brands. For instance, Stealth Acoustics has shown a willingness to improve the technology on its invisible offerings, with its range of StingRay outdoor speakers.
The waterproof super slim speakers are already proving popular in the superyacht and maritime market, with both six and eight woofer models, constructed using high-strength UV-protected fibreglass and marine grade, fibre-infused ASA plastics.
As a result, the speak is completely protected against the elements, earning a rating of IP-68.
Monitor Audio 2
Experts reckon that another product worth keeping an eye on is Monitor's Audio’s Platinum In-Wall II, which has been designed with a view to discreet custom installation.
Featuring the RDT II bass and mid-range drivers, alongside the new MPD High frequency driver, which has been specifically developed for the new Platinum home audio speakers.
The mid-range/ high frequency assembly can be rotated, allowing it to provide the best directivity pattern for horizontal or vertical installation.
That release has come alongside Monitor's two new compact subwoofers - the CW8 and CW10, which were given a first look at ISE.
Both models are driven by a powerful Class D amplifier that delivers more than 400w continuously.
The event also saw Meridian Audio celebrate its 40th anniversary, showcasing its new special edition DSP5200 Purple McLaren high-resolution speaker.
Several MQA-compatible products were also on offer, as well as the Meridian rack, which looks likely to allow users to mount up to four of the company’s oval shaped Media Source 200, a 818v3 Reference Audio Controller, or a Distributor3.
